Located on the Delaware River Camden Waterfront, the Adventure Aquarium is the latest iteration of what was originally the New Jersey State Aquarium. It is currently home to over 15,000 aquatic animals, including the largest collection of sharks in the Northeast, Little Blue penguins, Nile hippos, and more. Exhibits and attractions include a 3-D theatre; tanks containing southern stingrays, various types of sharks, and other sea creatures; the Shark Tunnel; and a number of touch tanks. There are eating opportunities and a gift shop on the premises. All restrooms feature handicap accessible stalls. In existence as a museum for over a century, the Old Barracks Museum's exhibits and interpretive programs focus on the world of colonial and revolutionary America as experienced in New Jersey. Towards the end of the last century, the museum underwent a restoration to return the building to how it would have looked when it was constructed in 1758. Its collection numbers around 2,000 objects, including one of the oldest known flags in North America (The “Pine Tree Flag”), one of two known copies of a broadside issued by the First Continental Congress directing merchants to cease orders for goods from Great Britain, a mid-18th century powder horn, and a collection of samplers created in the 18th and 19th centuries.
