Located on the Delaware River Camden Waterfront, the Adventure Aquarium is the latest iteration of what was originally the New Jersey State Aquarium. It is currently home to over 15,000 aquatic animals, including the largest collection of sharks in the Northeast, Little Blue penguins, Nile hippos, and more. Exhibits and attractions include a 3-D theatre; tanks containing southern stingrays, various types of sharks, and other sea creatures; the Shark Tunnel; and a number of touch tanks. There are eating opportunities and a gift shop on the premises. All restrooms feature handicap accessible stalls. Sound-reducing headphones, weighted blankets, and wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a deposit.

Founded in 1869, the American Museum of Natural History is the largest natural history museum in the world. Diggerland, located in West Berlin, NJ, is comprised of two parks—a construction-themed adventure park, featuring specially engineered machines (all which can be safely driven, ridden, and operated), a rope course, and a climbing wall; and a water park with swimming, slides and obstacle courses. The Liberty Science Center is a 300,000-square-foot learning center located in Liberty State Park on the Jersey City bank of the Hudson near the Statue of Liberty. The Center houses 12 museum exhibition halls, a live animal collection with 110 species, giant aquariums, a 3D theater, live simulcast surgeries, hurricane- and tornado-force wind simulators, K-12 classrooms and labs, and the Western Hemispheres biggest planetarium—the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater. The Mütter Museum of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia is dedicated to the history of medicine. Its collection of anatomical specimens, models, and old medical instruments are displayed in a 19th-century “cabinet museum” setting. These include a number of human skeletons and skulls, as well as various wax models used for the study of various pathologies in the human body. A portion of the museum's holdings are displayed in permanent exhibits. (Of special note are slides of the brain of Albert Einstein.) Located on the Brookdale Community College campus, the 15,000 sq. ft. Monmouth Museum serves as a cultural center of the arts, history, and science to all ages and abilities. Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is home to a rather eclectic mix of collections focusing on fossils, local wildlife, model trains, minerals, Native Americans, and paintings and sculpture, among other things. The jewel of the museum, however, is the Murtogh D. Guinness Collection of mechanical musical instruments and automata, a demonstration of which is conducted every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. In existence as a museum for over a century, the Old Barracks Museum's exhibits and interpretive programs focus on the world of colonial and revolutionary America as experienced in New Jersey. Towards the end of the last century, the museum underwent a restoration to return the building to how it would have looked when it was constructed in 1758. Its collection numbers around 2,000 objects, including one of the oldest known flags in North America (The “Pine Tree Flag”), one of two known copies of a broadside issued by the First Continental Congress directing merchants to cease orders for goods from Great Britain, a mid-18th century powder horn, and a collection of samplers created in the 18th and 19th centuries.
