Created by an act of Congress in 1988, the National Constitution Center is a museum in Philadelphia committed to increasing the awareness and understanding of the Constitution among the American people on a non-partisan basis. In addition to permanent and special exhibits, rare artifacts, and live theatre devoted to various aspects of the founding document of the country, the center hosts debates, the most famous of which has been the presidential primary debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. There is a coffee shop and gift shop on the premises.
